Author's note: Ok this is my first time posting toBA_Fluff and I am just gonna say that most ofmy stories turn out to be sad and depressing. Sorry :)It's just how they come out.

Buffy Summers, the longest living Slayer, was dying.She sat in an L.A apartment allalone awaiting death. Her strength and fightingability had taken a turn for the worse on her 25thbirthday. Giles told her this is what happens, becausea new Slayer needs to be called. So she wasdying in the most slow and painful process possible.Her body was becoming weak and fragile,showing signs of years of abuse. She looked 50 whenshe had barley made it up the "hill". Andyet her heart was still young and in love. It alwayshad been. She was still in love with a vampireafter all of these years.

Much had happened in her life. After high schoolgraduation was when her true love andsoul mate had left her. It took Buffy a long time andmany tissues to get over that night. Her hearthad been broken that night, even if he was only tryingto give her a better life. College startedthat fall and Buffy still felt the pain of that nightin her dreams, nightmares, and in daily life.College was a new and different experience atSunnydale University. In this lonely and coldplace is where she meet Riley, an odd but nice fellow.But before she could see Riley in adifferent light...she had to see someone in the dark.

But he beat her to it.

He came one night to protect her form some Indiansprits that tried to ruin her perfectThanksgiving. He never even said Hello to her, henever announced his presence. So she went tosee him, hoping and praying that he needed her back asmuch as she needed him.

But he told they needed to go their separate ways andforget.

And she tried to forget, she tried so hard. She evenbegan to date Riley. But Riley had asecret too. He also fought the forces of darkness.Though his group the "initiative" was run by aold bitter woman. It was later, with Giles' help,Buffy found out that she was part of the Council.She was a scientist hired to run tests on demons andhybrids. The Council decided to bad theproject, but Maggie Walsh kept continuing. So she hadto be stopped...but that's another story.

College went fast for Buffy. Buffy graduated with aMajor in the history of demonology,(though at graduation it was announced as a historydegree) it even became useful in some"special" circumstances. She was finally getting thenormal life Angel always wanted her tohave. Her life was finally moving on and she acceptedRiley's proposal.

Until he began to take the ring off of her finger. Itwas then Buffy decided she needed totell Riley about..Angel. Riley literally became ill.He looked upon Buffy as though she was ademonic creature herself. He couldn't understand howshe could love a demon. Her, being theSlayer, he asked why she could love a vampire, she andhe both had killed so many. Her answerwas simple...she told him because I do. The more Buffytried to explain things the worse it got.Riley left the next day.

At this point in time was when Buffy found out shewas dying. And since Riley had lefther she knew it was time to finally go and see Angel.She wasn't the only one looking for himthough.

Riley tracked Angel down. He must have got there ashort time before Buffy did. Whenshe finally found the building and entered though it'sdark door, she could hear the struggle.When she opened the door it broke Angel'sconcentration, in full vamp face he looked at her. Heknew she was dying, she could tell his voice morphedback into his handsome features. Hetouched her shoulders, tears running down his face.Riley slid the stake into him in that moment.Angel's face turned to desperation as he looked atBuffy. Hold on he said, and then he was gone.

Riley looked at Buffy, tears running down her face. Ifshe had had been at her full strengthshe would had giving him a beating, or even killedhim, she wasn't sure. He looked at her hespoke words that chilled her to the bone. Anothervampire to my record, he told her. Buffy was inshock, she finally came to Angel and she never got tosay good-bye or even how much she lovedhim. All she had now was a pile of dust on the floor.Riley had left shortly after killing the loveof her life. To him he was just another vampire, butto Buffy he was the love of her life. Buffywasn't even sure how long she had been sitting infront of the pile of ash that once was Angel, allshe knew was that her tears had long since dried andthe sun has rose and set at least twice. Shewas sure of one thing though.

Her time had come.

Buffy Summers, the longest living Slayer, sat in theplaced of her immortal beloved andawaited death. She knew that this time there was nochance of Angel coming back to her. It wasfinally over, their dark fairy tale didn't endbeautifully with a happily ever after. She did find itironic though that she was dying in such a slow andpainful way, when that was how Angel hadlived. From the pile of ash something sparkled andcaught Buffy's eye. She picked up the scaredCladaugh ring from oh so long ago. She placed it onher middle finger and took one last breath.

Death had finally come.
